Should Vending Machines Be Banned From Schools Essay

  • It's disgusting and we should be ashamed of ourselves for allowing it.

Schools should not be centers of profit. Jesus would probably turn the vending machines over if he was around today. Schools should come with healthy snacks and beverages available to all. And it should be free. We have enough profiteering in America today. At least we should keep it out of the schools.

  • They Should not be banned

Sometimes kids will forget their lunch and need something to eat or they don't have breakfast or have a small breakfast they need something to give them energy for the rest of the day. Also it is good for vending machines to be allowed because it will teach kids the value of money.

  • Obesity and diabetes

Vending machines can cause obesity and then cause type two diabetes . At least once a day a student gets a soda in class and without parental allowance, so life threatening causess and no allowance on unhealthy and surgery foods at least once every day and most children will take this chance and get tons of surgery foods

  • Yes. They are a piece of school property waiting to be vandalized.

I am still at school andf every day i see students rocking the vending machines and trying to get food out that they didnt pay for. Plus all the time I see something get stuck so students will try to get it out without their money being paid for it.

  • Schools Shouldn't Need Vending Machines

Most public school generally offer two meals in one day. Breakfast is usually available before classes start and lunch is offered as well. Students, if taking advantage of these meals, should not feel the need to eat extra food, therefore I believe vending machines should be banned from schools. Students shouldn't need access to additional foods, during the school day.

  • Vending machines are dangerous.

At ages 14-18, high school students tend to hangout with lots of friends, and they get peer pressured A LOT. This results in lots of mischievous behaviour, also known as fooling around. A common example would be rocking the vending machine, trying to get snacks that they didn’t pay for. As an outcome, the vending machine tips over, and what used to be a snack machine now turns into a lethal weapon. Statistics show that vending machines kill more than 30 high school students per year. In comparison, more vending machine deaths occur than shark attack deaths!

  • Why does it matter

If a kid is late for class doesn't mean that the school has to get rid of vending machines for everyone. It's the kids fault you can still have vending machines, the kid needs to be smart and more aware of time. The kid must be responsible for their action

  • Vending Machines should not be banned from schools.

Vending machines provide for hungry students who are hardworking, growing and can get hungry faster than the average adult. Vending machines also provide for money schools need to run extra events. This means that students can do fun activity and buy more food because they are hungry. Lastly, vending machines bring happiness that students need to survive a school day. Kids/ Students can't be happy on a empty stomach. Students can't learn without nutrition. Therefore, vending machines should not be banned in schools as they provide food for hungry students (lost lunches, forgetfulness), money for the school, and happiness that every student needs to thrive.

  • They are a major waste of money

They cost about 8000 dollars to install but the yearly rate is only about 8525 dollars. The price of the maintenance and electric bill costs about 5300 dollars in all which is most of he yearly rate. My claim is that with vending machines in schools, the school will likely go bankrupt

  • Kageyama- the truth

I love kageyama tobio !! Hes the best he will always be the best my friends accuse me of loving him more than gray fullbuster and im sorry but to be honest hes so amazing like how can u not ?? Also im not admitting it at all bc its not tru e and crystals a liar

  • Kids can't starve!

We can't let the kids starve during school. If they get hungry, they need to eat something, and they can get it from vending machines! If they want sweets, let them get sweets. They will learn sooner or later that they are not good for you, but they are active enough to burn off the fats.

  • They can have healthy snacks!

Vending machines can be used as a quick breakfast or recess snack for those who forgot. They can also help the school earn money for other things such as science lab, computer lab, and music. Vending machines offer a healthy, easy, and inexpensive snack for kids. Vending machines offer food for those who cant retrieve it at home.

  • We need junck food

I love juck food so wee need a lot to get us sick so we don't have to go to school and learn there stupid and boring stuff and listen to theose boring and dum teachers right we have rights don't we we need junk food every day right and if you agree with me say yes

  • Waste of money

As a mom of three, I don't want my children spending their allowance on junk food and sugary drinks. I also want to make sure my children are eating nutritious meals provided by the school and not substituting their lunch for a bag of chips, candy, and a soda. I'm not against sugar completely, I bake for my family all the time. I feel better knowing that their desserts are made from scratch and free of chemicals and artificial ingredients.

  • Pretty Simple Solution

The questions is "Should schools have vending machines?" It doesn't specify what type. People just assume they are soda and candy machines, but what if they are not? Then does that change your opinion, probably. People claim "No, cause it makes them gain weight and it's not healthy!" If you consult an actual nutritionist, then you would know that for the proper metabolism a child needs to eat at least 5 small portions of food a day. A healthy breakfast, light snack (granola bar), healthy lunch, light snack (fruit), healthy dinner, and light snack (your choice). So where will our children get a light snack between breakfast and lunch? Some will say send something with your kid, or be prepared. This day and age who are we kidding? No one is every fully prepared and things don't always work out. I say, if it's healthy vending machines then go for it!

  • Why Not?

There is really no valid reason to take away vending machines from our schools. There is no reason a vending machine HAS to be filled with garbage they can just as easily be filled with fairly healthy choices like granola bars or 100 calorie packs or perhaps nuts and trail mixes. Just because it's a vending machine doesn't mean it has to be stuffed with candy and chips.

  • Vending machines ftw!!!!!

Vending machines are great. They will give a child a food source to "power through the day." They don't nessecarilly have bad food all the time, either. A lot of snacks in vending machines are healthy, such as apples and grapes. Others have things such as trail mix that are good for children. It's a child's decision to eat junk or fruit anyway, so it is primarily a child's fault that this topic is even a thing.

  • Yes we should

Vending machines are very important to high school kid who don't eat and need snacks during school and never have anything the want to eat school so they wont be hungry and they need the food they need for the day and don't have lunch money . Because you need the food you need

  • Vending machines can be healthy

It can have healthy snacks as well as unhealthy. And it doesn't cause obesity. What the child chooses can cause obesity. If a kid chooses m&m's over a fig it's the child's choice. And it's good if a student forgets their lunch and cannot purchase from lack of money, they can get something from the machine.

  • Let kids learn from their own choices

I think that schools should have vending machines, but they should have healthy food choices. When I was in high school, they had vending machines, but they didn't always have good choices. I'll admit, I made some wrong choices for food, but as an adult I'm paying for my wrong decisions. I'm not "overweight", but I'm not at the weight i should be for my age. Let kids make their own choices, that is how they will learn.
